Zoom link will be sent to registrants each Friday leading up to the event. Free and open to the public!   Speaker Biography:Mariana E. Ramírez, Ph.D., was born and raised on Kumeyaay land, on both sides of the Tijuana-San Diego border. Ramírez is the Associate Director for the UCI History Project, focusing on building collaborative networks among ethnic studies scholars, K-12 teachers, and their students to explore local history through an ethnic studies methodology and pedagogy. She worked as a middle and high school teacher in the immigrant communities of Logan Heights, San Diego, and Boyle Heights, Los Angeles, for 13 years. A key part of her K-12 work involved engaging students in geospatial community action research projects and serving as an advisor for student social justice organizations.
