Assistant Professor of Strategy Chacko George Kannothra was awarded a grant from the National Science Foundation for $300,704 for the project “The Role of Narratives, Identity, and Collective Action in Entrepreneurship,” along with Dr. Carly Offidani-Bertrand and Dr. Maria Paola Ometto of CSU San Marcos.

The project seeks to understand how collectives of individuals, entrepreneurs, and organizations engage in collective action and leverage collective identities to create inclusive entrepreneurial ecosystems and build pathways toward social mobility for socially and economically disadvantaged entrepreneurs. This interdisciplinary collaboration between two minority-serving institutions includes budgetary allocations to engage graduate and undergraduate students in research over the next three years.
