This is your opportunity to enjoy a free, delicious meal while networking with a fellow Toro alum. Our program grants CSUDH alumni the opportunity to host students for an evening of good food, conversation, and connections. The location will be off-campus and will be identified at the time students are selected to participate. The alum will provide one meal per student. Once the program is over, we ask that you complete our survey, so we can further enhance this program. Students pursuing a computer science degree are strongly encouraged to apply, however all students are eligible. Selection Process:Students will need to RVSP through Toro Link to complete the student application. Applications will be reviewed by the Office of Alumni Relations and students will be selected based on their responses to the questionnaire. There is limited space available. Selected students will be contacted via toromail, prior to the dinner with event information. Meet our alumni host, Jose P. Hernandez: Jose P. Hernandez is a seasoned IT professional with a strong foundation in Computer Science. He graduated from California State University, Dominguez Hills in 1990 with a degree in Computer Science and a minor in Mathematics. Jose possesses a diverse and successful career spanning over three decades. He began his journey at FileNet, where he spent 8 years, followed by 17 years at IBM. He currently leads a high-performing team of 10 support analysts at Workday, providing top-tier support to Fortune 500 clients. Jose has a proven track record of success in various leadership roles, progressing from developer to Application Development Support Engineer, Lead, Manager, and Senior Manager. He has a deep understanding of a wide range of technologies, having supported over 30 IBM Cloud Products, including Blockchain, APIc, Code Engine, LogDNA, and SysDig. His leadership experience is global, having led and managed teams across the United States, Rome, Dublin, India, Australia, China, and New Zealand. He has cultivated a strong international perspective through extensive travel, visiting countries such as Germany, Ireland, Amsterdam, Chile, Mexico City, New York, Chicago, St. Louis, Dallas, Austin, and Raleigh, NC. Beyond his professional accomplishments, Jose cherishes his family. As the middle child of nine siblings, he became the first in his family to attend a university. He is a dedicated father, having coached his two sons in baseball and soccer, and his daughter in soccer. Jose enjoys an active lifestyle. He is an avid fan of baseball and enjoys watching soccer.
